Rules:

1) Coherent English policy. Use of generally correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation in understandable sentence structures is required in the forum and Pm system. Failure to utilize legible English will result in a one day ban. ALL CAPS or l337 speak will result in a three day ban. Posts in languages other than English will be removed, and a warning issued to the poster.

2)Abusing the forum or in game Pm system will get you banned. Threatening, flaming, spamming, or general abuse of the in-game PM system is punishable by immediate account suspension. If someone sends you a harassing or abusive message, take a screen shot of it and post it on the Nova powers forum (preferably in the Discussion board). In general, be civil towards and respectful of other players.

List of bannable ToS #1 offenses:

• Extreme Profanity
• Racist/Anti-semitic/Homophobic/Sexist Remarks
• Generic Flaming
• Spamming
• Trolling/Baiting/Sniping
• Generic Harassment

ToS #1 does not cover everything. The excuse that it "wasn't on the list" is unacceptable; this is not a democracy

3) Using an alternate account is strictly forbidden Regarding alternate accounts: we have an IP logger that can tell us when people are boosting off different accounts. Keep in mind that we can see just about everything you do, and we won't hesitate to delete "smurf" accounts, or the accounts of anyone caught cheating, or abusing bugs and exploits.

4) Anti Harassment Policy
You may not harass other members on the forum. This includes baiting, sniping, trolling, -- this involves making a post simply to "bait" the targeted user into violating the Code of Conduct.

You may not post items referring to race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, ideological beliefs, religious beliefs, or gender in a demeaning context. This is not a place for discrimination -- users who do so will be permanently banned.

You may not make personal attacks against other players. Doing so will result in a warning. If you persist in making personal attacks against other players, for any reason, you will be banned.

5) Use common sense when selecting a flag.
Do not link to a flag that contains offensive content.

Content deemed inappropriate in flags:

• Swastikas of any kind
• Nudity
• Symbols considered generally offensive
• Racist/Anti-semitic/homophobic/sexist images or remarks

6)User applied names. User applied names must adhere to our code of conduct. We reserve the right to delete your account or the offending planet/ship/et cetera if your user applied name violates our code of conduct. You will be asked to re-register at our discretion.

7)Using bots is forbidden. The use of bots to automate your account is strictly forbidden. Anyone caught using bots will be immediately IP banned.

8)The Rules section is not designed to cover everything. Use of the game and forum systems is a privilege, and not a right. The Nova Powers administration team reserves the right to moderate the game and forums at our discretion. Keep in mind that the rules do not cover everything, leaving us room to interpret what constitutes abusive behavior on a case-by-case basis.

Moderation and Bans

• You may not try to evade a ban by creating an alternate account, etc. Doing so will result in your ban being lengthened or your IP blocked if necessary.
• You may not re-edit a message that has been edited by a moderator.
• You may not post a message on behalf of a banned forumer.
• You may not publicly complain or demand a reason for a user's ban.

Miscellaneous

• You may not post in a manner that is directly harmful to Nova Powers. Examples include "Nova Powers sucks, go play NavyField instead". If you do, your post will be deleted and your account permanently banned.
• You may not register multiple accounts with the intent to violate the Code of Conduct.
• Note that our forums are not a place to advertise your website. Accounts created solely to advertise will be permanently banned. If you would like to advertise, please contact our administration team first.

General Punishment Scale:

First Offense: One-Day Ban
Second Offense: Week Ban
Third Offense: Month Ban
Fourth Offense: Permanent Ban
